UNDER TWO SKIES

Under Two Skies is a narrative-driven Visual Novel with Point-and-Click elements, loosely inspired by the book of the same name. You step into the shoes of John Parker, a young musician haunted by the disappearance of his college sweetheart, Lisa Ernst, a lingering mystery in the small town of Oaksville.

Unable to cope and accused by many, John left the town, only to return four years later. Facing figures from his childhood and teenage years, he only hoped for a fresh start, but strange dreams lead him to unlock the unexplainable power to revisit moments in his own life through lucid dreams, creating alternate realities.

Is he losing his mind? Or is it really a supernatural power? With help from a new friend, the sarcastic and somber Anne Cross, John will search for the truth of Lisa's disappearance and a way to save her.

The investigation will lead John to confront ghosts from the past, the powerful — and shady — Dyson family, and uncover secrets buried deep in the town's history. Your choices will rewrite the past, present, and future, and ultimately determine the fate of everyone involved.

Game Mechanics

Dynamic Relationship System
Your interactions with the cast are measured by a score that spans from Hostile to Affectionate/Friendly. This score dynamically gates access to clues, lore, and impacts the planned routes and endings.

Point-and-click
Explore environments, collect evidence, and piece together the narrative. Gather collectibles to learn more about characters and the story's lore.

John’s journal
Relationship milestones and character profiles are tracked in John's in-game Journal, serving as a hub for progress and lore.

Branching narrative
A dense, multi-layered story with significant choices leading to multiple endings.

Project Status

Under Two Skies is in active development using the Ren'Py engine. 

AI disclosure
Multiple AI tools are used to generate backgrounds, sprites, and visual elements in general, and to assist in code debugging and programming. 

No AI is used to write dialogue, story, or characters. I may use AI for text revision in the future, depending on community support and reception.

Currently, I'm focused on the basic mechanics and initial design, while writing little by little. The story has a complete plot, from beginning to end, serving as a framework.

Note for the book readers
The game's story is based on the book, but it will not be a 100% faithful adaptation. It includes new characters, secondary characters from the book with greater relevance, and, of course, alternate ending.
